Spanish Quarters Tour

Overview

The tour discovering Quartieri Spagnoli ( Spanish district ) is recommended for those who wants to have a 360 degrees image going deep inside in one of the most characteristic areas of Naples that will lead to the discovery of unique places, opposing art expressions such as votive aedicules, symbol of popular devotion, and artistic murals, symbol of social redemption. We speak about a historical part of the city made up of three different districts (San Ferdinando, Avvocata and Montecalvario). It is among these alleys that we can still grasp the Neapolitan veracity: a mixture of tradition, history, style of life between the sacred and the profane. The tour will be rich in anecdotes and curiosities especially about the folklore of the “bassi”, the Neapolitan store-front level houses and lines of hanging laundry. All in the frame of splendid palaces, little stores and typical market.
